OnLive research

Advantages of OnLive
  • consumers no longer have to travel to a store to buy the game
  • no download time as it is streamed
  • in theory it's cheaper
  • using it on a computer opens it up to a wider market as people no longer have to pay hundreds of pounds for games consoles
  • Cuts out the retailer

Disadvantages of OnLive
  • There is no more socialisation involved with buying games anymore
  • It would be cutting out the publisher and console manufacturers losing them a lot of money
  • The graphics produced in the games wont look at good on a normal computer screen as opposed to HD television
  • If your connection to the internet is not up to standard then this may not work as it is all streamed online
  • subscription is $14.99 a month which works out to be expensive
