4. What is media convergence and give an examples of its use in the industry?

Media convergence is when two different media industries come together, in the hope that their relationship would be synergistic as the impact they would have together would be greater than the impact they would have alone. For example releasing a film and game at the same time would reach a wider audience and both industries could pool their resources and benefit greater from cross marketing.

Another way of which media convergence can take place is to mix both old forms of media with new for example using both television advertisement as well as advertising through the internet. For example creating a facebook page as advertising.
