Games Write Uppppppppppppp

GTA.

1. what do you personally like about the game?
- the fact that you can do pretty much anything you like, you can drive the cars and complete missions.

2. Who is it aimed at?
- 18year olds teenagers and above, this is because there is bad language and you can perform violent acts on characters.

3. what do you think of the content/game experience?
- it's fun, however if you can't complete any missions it can become a bit boring if you just cruise around.

4. are their any other references to any other media industry? e.g music, film.
- the music you hear on the radio is cars if famous songs, however they have changed some of the lyrics which makes them rude, which shows it's meant to be for the older generation of teenagers.

The School Bully Game

1. It's a bit to violent and i particulary think its a bit unsuitable as it's based on a school boys & bullying. I can see why it was taken off the shelves in America.

2. Aimed at teenagers as the characters are their sort of age, and especially for boys who like completing missions.

3. It's too violent for me, a bit too graphic on certain subjects and a bit full on.

4. N/A

Red Dead Revolver

1. The graphics were good in some places

2. Boys who like cowboys and shooting guns

3. I found it quite boring, the game personally seemed very simple to play if you know how to play it which we didnt.

4. Refered to cowboy and western films

Table Tennis

1. You can play two player and its competitive

2. Aimed at sport fans & people who like to play two player.

3. I like it as you are able to perform tricks and get the upper hand.

4. N/A

Midnight Club.

1. I liked this as my favourite type of game is racing and i like the fact you can race against other players.

2. Racers, teenagers, boys/girls, people who like cars

3. Its very clever and exciting as its competitive

4. I refer it to fast and furious as they race in the film and customize their cars.
Section 1. Game feedback.

Canis canem edit:
Playstation 2
The game is set in an unusual location, in a school. This game would appeal to people 13+, as the violence isn't too extreme, and the location & graphics would appeal to this age range. It is a surreal version of their day-to-day life.
There are no references to other media industries. The game is unique, and there are no similarities to another game.

Read dead revolver:
Xbox
My favourite aspect of the game is the location- 'wild west'. This game would appeal to 14 years +. I don't think it would retain the interest of younger children, and the violence is suitable for 14+ years, it may be seen as inappropraite for younger children.
There are no other references to other media. There are no other similarites to any other games that I played.

Table tennis:
Xbox
I like the simplicity of the game, it's easy to learn the rules, controls and the aim of the game.
People who would be interested in this games would be people who enjoy both playing and watching sports. All ages would be suitable for playing this game, as there is no violence, lots of interesting graphics and a simple aim. Therefore all ages can enjoy it.
This game is boring and repetative. There is no reference to any other media.

Midnight club- Los Angeles
Playstation 3
I like the graphics of this game, and the graphics. I found the game quite limiting -unable to get out of the car. I think that this game would appeal to 10+ years old, as there is a small amount of violence, yet interesting enough graphics and an easy enough. The location is based on a real place, L.A. The cars are based on real cars. The game is similar to Grand Theft Auto.

Grand Theft Auto.
Playstation 2
I like the flexibilty of the game, players are able to control the character. The game is aimed at older teenagers, (15+) as there is a lot of violence. The game has good graphics but is violent. The music which is featured in the game is real music, which is recogised.
This game is similar to other driving games, and 'shoot-em' games.

write up of game sesh!

Midnight Club: Los Angeles - Sony Playstation 3

  • Good quality graphics of players cars and certain scenary. The game feels a little unrealistic due to the lack of realism in crashes and other certain factors about the game. The location is good and the location/scenary is thought out well. However some of the buildings look a little sloppy and feels slightly like an arcade game.

  • The game is aimed at peopl aged 10+ and also people who enjoy a element of real life racing - the ps3 allows this due to great graphics.

  • The game is high in content - a list of new top range cars, different race types and different tracks. The experience brings realism due to cop chases and other factors included in the game, however, going on two wheels by pressing a button is unrealistic.

  • This game makes little refrences to other media industries. However music is played when your driving.
  • 7/10

Table tennis - Microsoft Xbox 360

  • Good arcade game. Brings competition which makes it addictive. It was easy to play.

  • Attracts anyone who likes this particular sport, anyone who enjoys competion, friends and family.

  • The game was addictive, however after a while of playing it, i would proberly move on to another game as it feels like there is no progression or ability to accoplish anything.

  • Refrences include boards in the background for exaple the rockstar sign on a billboard while playing.
  • 5/10

Grand theft auto: vice city - Sony Playstation 2

  • Fantastic game. good graphics for its time (2002) and a wide veriety of gameplay. you play as 'Tommy Vecety' and you must earn money through completing missions. Due to it being released a long time ago it lacks in realism.

  • The game is registered for 18+, however, many teenagers 'beg' their perents to purchase any grand theft auto. from the first GTA to the new GTA:4 many teenages complete the missions, with the new ability to play online.
  • Everything in grand theft auto has explicit, comedy content, with many sexyal inuendos and other hidden jokes left for the audience to discover. the expereince of this game is fantastic. this original game combines free roam and missions together.
  • All GTA's have radio stations with real music. Vice city's music is arouind the 80's/90's.
  • 10/10 for it time

Bully - Sony Playstation 2

  • Funny game and enjoyable. it is a young version of GTA. your a school student and go around dealing with school how you like, mainly a 'bully'.
  • Aimed at anyone who enjoys violence, or in the schoolboy period.
  • content is major violence with the ability to deal with school how you want.
  • no refrences known.
  • 7/10

Red Dead Revolver - Microsoft Xbox

  • I found this to be an exceptionally poor game. The poor graphics, simple unrealistic gameplay, for example shooting someone was very unrealistic. This game has tried to be an old day Grand theft auto, and I feel it has failed to rise to any level of GTA. There were no clear objectives and due to no map i was unsure where to go, what to do and i becam bored!
  • aimed again at anyone who likes GTA, but also a western type of game.
  • Content is gun violence, with stratagy. Game experience is poor due to reasons mesioned above, causes depression!
  • Refrences to western steriotypes.
  • 2/10

Write up of gaming session.

Red Dead Revolver - Xbox
1) The game was simple to play, although the shooting was a little unaccurate. But the game had quite a good mix of platformer and shooter.
2) Due to the rating of the game and the blood and guns, the game is aimed at adults, particuly those who enjoy watching western movies, due to the references throughout the game.
3) The levels were rather bland and repetitive, walking down the same train for two levels got boring.
4) The game takes many refereces from early western films.

Table Tennis - Xbox 360
1) The controls were simple due to most buttons making you hit the ball, with either spins, curls, low and high.
2) This game would appeal to families who enjoy more casual gaming to hardcore gaming, or people who are really big fans of the sport, but have no room for a tennis table.
3) The experience of the game isn't wide enough or fun enough to make me want to go back and play more.
4) There are ads on billboards on the side of the arena, a bit like you would get in a real sport event, also the characters are real people who are famous in the sport.

Midnight Club LA - Playstation 3
1) The speed and the amount of damage you can do to your car is over the top and over dramatic, however this is the kind of racing games that I find fun, track racing is dull, but mind blowing speed and over the top tricks are exciting.
2) This game is aimed more at people who like fast cars, but prefer messing about in their own sandbox world.
3) There were a lot of choices of car (Although we had no money to buy any), so you will go back to unlock more faster models later on.
4) The music playing out of the car radio is from real bands.

Grand Theft Auto Vice City - Playstation 2
1)Although their is a main story in GTA games, they never seem to draw me in, all i ever did and still do on GTA is open up the cheatbook and spawn as many vehicles and weapons i can untill the game becomes fun. However i like the freedom to do this and the world that is built for you to explore.
2) This game is aimed at adults, and adult gaming. However many younger children play this game and enjoy it much more just because of the amount of freedom and variety they get with it.
3) As i said in 1 only fun for me when using cheats.
4) The radio has real songs from bands of the 80's, and the adverts inbetween the songs mock real adverts to give the player a laugh.

Bully - Playstation 2

1) Very much like GTA but with a younger protagonist, and a very slightly more innocent story, as there are no guns or stealing vehicles this time, however beating the crap out of the nearest passer by is still perfectly acceptable.
2) This game is aimed for fans of the GTA series, and people who are too young to go oout and buy GTA but want the same experience, also for people who really don't like their school, playing it means you can pretend to get revenge on your own school. Just without the possibility of getting expelled.
3) The minigames, like button pressing sequences are a good way of adding variety into the game.
4) Billboards and radios simmilar to the way in GTA.
