Marketing and Press terms

Marketing is the process by which companies determine what products or services may be of interest to customers, and the strategy to use in sales, communications and business development.

Viral Marketing refer to marketing techniques that use pre-existing social networks to produce increases in brand awareness or to achieve other marketing objectives (such as product sales) through self-replicating viral processes.

Guerrilla Marketing was invented as an unconventional system of promotion that relies on time, energy and imagination rather ten a big marketing budget.

Specialist Press is a term used for different company's who focus on certain areas of the marketing market.

Mainstream Press is the opposite the Specialist Press and it means that it is open to a wide range of fields in the market.

Rhian and Oliver N - Nintendo Play Session Write Up

Xbox 360 Table Tennis:

1. Very fluent graphics which are also detailed. Very reactive to the control.

2. Game is aimed at everyone, its fun easy and user friendly.

3. Portrays ping pong really well with the quick screen play and realistic noises.

4. Minor sport sponsors are seen as a reference to other industries.

PlayStation 3 Midnight Club:

1. Amazing graphics and real life game play.

2. Teen/ young men.

3. Very violent and does not portray real driving.

4. There were no ther references to the media industry, no music ect.

PlayStation 2 Grand Theft Auto Vice City:

1. Great story/ Plot

2. Older teens/ Young men, as is shown by the age restriction

3. Good graphics for the time but very unrealistic.

4. No references to other media industrys.

PlayStation 2 Bullworth Academy:

1. It had good game play and the graphics for the time were really good, and the narrative worked well.

2. Teenagers, adults

3. Interesting, similar to GTA as it depicts one character and their struggle in the world.

4. No references to other media institutions.

Playstation 2 Red Dead Revolver:

1. I didnt enjoy it but the graphics were not bad.

2. Teens/ men

3. very western not very realistic.

No links to other media industrys.

Oliver N:

- First game played, Mario on Gameboy

- Favourite Games, Crash Team Racing, Golden Eye, Hogs of War. I liked the fantasy of the game and the quality of the graphics (for the time) was amazing!

- Games played now: Crash Team Racing, Call of Duty Modern Warefare 2, Liked because the graphics are amazing and the ability to play with and against friends is another attraction.

- Consols bought, PS1 and Xbox bought because they were the best games of their time.

- Dont play games online

Rhian:

- first game: Mario on a Gameboy

- Favorite Games: Golf on Wii, Mario Bros Wii because they are sociable and you can play with other people. Crash Bandicut on iPod touch it keeps me busy on the trainm bubble spinner on iPod keeps me busy on the train.

- Games played now: all of above

- Consols Bought: Game boy, Gameboy Advance, Play Station, Playstation 2, Wii

- Dont play games online
